Challenge #3 from My Pink Stamper

I really wanted to make the bread as posted by Robyn over at My Pink Stamper.
But instead I made cookies for my family and decided to make a little treat for our daycare lady. I appreciate all she does...so as I pay her tomorrow...I thought a little note and a few cookies would be nice. :) I needed just the perfect little holder for them....so I headed over to another one of my favorite sites, Crazy for Crafting and saw that Cindy had posted a new Valentines Treat Box. She has some amazing ds cut files, check them out. So here is what I made. I added a ribbon and a tag to finish it up. :)

Challenge #1 from My Pink Stamper

So...I was up checking all the blogs that I follow this morning...and I decided to have some Cricut time. Later in the morning I came across the Challenge from My Pink Stamper :) This is the first time that I've participated in a challenge...so it was fun. I liked it. So here it is. :) I created this little number myself with the help of my boyfriend, Ned, who came up with the idea...I then designed it on Design Studio. We did this a few weeks ago...I've gotten better at it...and I've perfected it with having ribbon hold it open. :) (again an idea from Ned) For today's challenge...I made the Martini Card with black and hot pink...I thought a perfect girly card for a friend. :) Enjoy your day crafting...cricuting...creating...whatever you do. :)

Pho and a Limeade....mmmmm

I just have to start out by saying....Thank you so much Renee for lunch yesterday. :) I really needed it. You got all of our favorites...and it was perfect. Thank you for listening...and agreeing...and advising. I needed it all.  And know...your words did not go unheard....I heard it all. :) ...and also...I can't wait to get one of those bushes....they smelled amazzzzzingggg!!!

Besides lunch with my friend, I cricuted today. I made some new boxes...and I love them. :) No pictures of those...sorry...they are presents. :) However...I did make a new project for my sister and her husband for their anniversary.
I've seen these folding albums before, but I figured it out on my own. So here it is. :) I also made a semi matching card. :)

Last Friday night Sara and I also watched "The Pink Stamper" live at CHA. We had popcorn and soda and sat up on Sara's bed for over an hour. There were so many giveaways...and can you believe it...I didn't win a one. :( Oh well....next time.  Well...I better get going for now.  A little rest is in order as I've been sick with a cold.

Glasses!!

We got a call  today for Sara and I to go pick up our glasses...so we did. And everything is so clear now...literally.lol. Just before getting the glasses the girls helped me complete these baby shower favors. They are called sour cream containers...and they are filled with M&M's. I can't wait til everyone seems them. :) The girls and I made an assembly line, and we just whipped them out. We had a great time doing it too. Thanks girlies!!

I'm so ready for a day off to Cricut....maybe Wednesday :)

Ohhhh....this is the hard part of my 2 week schedule. (lol...it's really not that hard...but it leaves less time for me.lol) So anyways...we were busy looking at houses this weekend, so I didn't Cricut.  However...I did shop for stuff for my Cricut. I did purchase the pens to put in the place of the blade, so I can draw stuff with my Cricut. :)

I can't wait to try these out. I also got another Cuttlebug folder... :) I do have some awesome ideas for Valentines. :) You'll have to wait and see if they turn out. :) I can't wait to see if I can design what I think I can. So...wish me luck. Valentines Day is approaching...and I need to get some cards done too. My next day off is Wednesday...so that will be my day to Cricut. :) I can't wait.

Brownie Boxes

These are sooooo adorable. How crafty and creative. I got my idea from a blog that I follow that I stumbled upon on the Cricut forums.  Here is a link to "Bits of Paper" if you want to see what else she makes http://jamielanedesigns.blogspot.com/ . On the "Bits of Paper" site...there was only a file to download if you used SCAL, which I do not have. I used my Cricut Expression with the "George and Basic Shapes" Cartridge, and made a similar design with Design Studio. Here's the finished project.

This cute little Valentines gift will hold a standard box of brownies or cake mix, then attach a spoon or whisk with bow...and you are set. A cute little gift for friends for Valentines Day.  You could use it for any holiday...just change the paper accordingly. :) The paper that I used is my favorite Valentines paper from Craft Warehouse...and the ribbon...Ned so kindly matched up. :) What a good crafty boyfriend I have. :)

P.S. So far....the New Years Resolutions are going pretty well. :) Not perfect by any means...but it is a good guide for me to refer to. :)

On a different note, looked at a house today out in Happy Valley. . .a dream house. :) mmmmm, affordable too. I WANT it!!! :)

CHEERS!!!!!!!!

So this morning...I got Ned off to work...and the kids off to school...and then cleaned up the downstairs...and off to Cricuting I went. :) Here's my setup. :)

Yes you will notice that Neddy and his partner are here to help...and oversee. For what would My Polar Expressions be without a Polar Bear???

I decided to work on making the card that Ned had an idea for. We designed it on Design Studio the other night...and this morning...I cut it...did some trial and error with ideas...and finally put it together. :) I really think it came out wonderfully. :) I wonder who I will give it to? With Ned's and my creativity together...how can we go wrong?

Thanks honey for such a grand cute idea. :)

Kerokerokeroppi

Oh how I used to love kerokerokeroppi....well....I still do. But when I was in highschool I used to collect pens and stickers and notepads with his picture. I eventually learned how to draw him...and today...I made a design for my Cricut...and I cut him :) and made him on a card. How clever am I? I had a good time cricuting today on my day off. I work one more day and then have 4 off...and you know what I will be doing on those days....hint hint...I hear a chirp.lol

So here are the two cards that I made this afternoon with my Kerokerokeroppi cutouts. :) One is a birthday card...and the other is for any occassion. :) I can't wait to give them away to someone. I'm working on another Cricut Design Studio card...it was Ned's idea...he helped me design it. I won't be cutting it until Friday...but it is going to be magnificent. I'm really excited to put it together....so keep watching for it. We have a couple more ideas too...that will come to fruition at some point. :)

Ned has been a complete lifesaver in this hobby of mine. Today I used the ATG tape gun that he bought me..and personalized for me. It worked perfectly.  He says he has more on the way to help out my habit....I'm so spoiled. :) ...and I love it!!!!

A Baby Shower Card

So TA DA....I made a cricut card all on my own. :) No pattern from anyone or ideas or anything...all me. That would also qualify as a portion of my New Years Resolutions. :) woo hooo!!!!

Ned and I went out to bagels this morning. :) While we sat and sipped hot chocolate we looked at the Sunday paper. In the Michaels ad there was the Cuttlebug for 50% off. :) Ned said we should go check it out...we did...and then he bought it for me. WOOOOHOOO!!! I was so excited. He is really making this hobby unbelievable. If you don't know what a Cuttlebug is...it is an embossing/die cut machine. I am using it for the embossing effect....note the front of the baby shower card. The pink background swirls were made with the Cuttlebug. :) It really makes all the difference on cards. :)

Well 2010 is off to a good start. :) I'm very excited to see what it brings.

Caitlyn and I went to see "Brothers".  It was a good movie...but sad...and a little overwhelming. But we had a good time. A nice girls afternoon. :) After that...we came home...made some dinner...tacos & quesadillas. Yum! Then I sat down at the table and broke out the Cricut/Cuttlebug stuff and went to work. I did do a rough draft of a brownie/cake gift box...it didn't turn out quite right...but it will next time. :) I need some Valentines paper...and I will be set. No pictures of that yet...but some of you...:) (Renee) will probably have one in hand soon. :)

Good night for now.

P.S. Here's Neddy...he snuck out in the snow....He's a polar bear...what could I do?

Happy New Year

Happy New Year. What a great day to start a new blog...right?lol. I've just gotten a Cricut for Christmas along with Design Studio...and so here I am crafting away all the time. The Cricut is absolutely amazing. I'll share with you a few things that I've made so far. All of these are ideas and designs from fellow Cricuteers...however I did not have the George Cartridge that I needed for most of them...so I used my Plantin Schoolbook cartridge and made my own design on DS to cut. Took quite a bit of time...but it sure has been fun.

I'm going to try my hand at blogging again. It's one of my New Years Resolutions. I'm gonna try something new this year. I'm going to make some New Years Resolutions right here on this blog...they will be simple...but lets see if I can do them for at least a month. Resolutions always get pushed to the wayside so I figure if I make them attainable, it will be more practical and more importantly realistic.

These are in no particular order.lol
  • Exercise at least once a week at the gym & moniter my weight
  • Craft at least one of my own designs with my Cricut weekly...and one other design as well
  • Monitor a chore list weekly with the girls and give them a weekly allowance
  • Try a new recipe once a month
  • Go on a date with Ned at least once a month
  • Once a month, give a friend a Cricut made gift for no reason
  • Blog weekly
  • Listen to one sermon a week...either at church or online
  • Read for 30 min a week
  • Go to lunch with my mom once a month
  • Save $100 a month
